SUBJECT | DESCRIPTION |
Timing |
I tab timing using a simple system in which numbers represent downbeats and +'s represent upbeats:
Rhythm: 1 + 2 + 3 4 + 1 + 3 + 4 Words: Da-shing through the snow, on a one-horse o-pen sleigh.... If I do not define the timing of a song, it is often tabbed approximately and sometimes not at all. |
Double Dash |
Each section of tab ends with a double dash (--). If a section ends in a single dash, it runs longer than the page permits and continues on the next line:
One line: e|------------------- B|------------------- G|-2p0--------------- D|-----2p0----------- A|---------3p0----0-- E|-------------3b----Broken into two lines: e|------------- B|------------- G|-2p0--------- D|-----2p0----- A|---------3p0- E|------------- e|------- B|------- G|------- D|------- A|----0-- E|-3b---- |
